BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA

I needed a bridge from Australian Fashion Week to Coachella… a bridge from structured, tailored, couture-mania to the free spirited, gypsy flowiness of ‘festival world’. (I know that technically Coachella isn’t the Woodstock of today – in fact it’s probably the exact opposite, hehe, but for us outsiders watching from afar, it’s what we dream it could be that counts. In my dreams it’s girls in wide brimmed hats, and slouchy worn down boots, and flowy white embroidered dresses, lots of long draped necklaces and turquoise jewels… hitting the desert with their girlfriends. One can dream.

Gorgeous 60s/Bardot/Sienna Milleresque inspired shoot for this blossoming intimates label. Styled by Byron local and designer of All She Needed, Felicity ‘Flick’ Henderson & hair and makeup by our beloved sister Luciana of Fox & Bambi blog. What an incredible little shoot they created here – I have just been on Luc’s blog and she shares the story of the shoot, how they pulled it off in a few hours, all working in perfect harmony with one another. These are the shoots that shine, the ones where everyone just clicks into place and magic happens.

DIY Crop tee: Spelly always had this innate ability to take a pair of scissors to any old piece of clothing and cut it at just the right spot, be it cutting the sleeves off a tee making it the perfect tank, turning a maxi dress into a mini or in this case, turning one of our roadtrip tees into a cute as pie mid-drift defying crop top.

A Stylish Girl

I always want to look this epically stylish when I travel, I even pack gorgeous pieces so that I can feel exotic – and somehow I always end up looking a little more hot-and-sweaty-drowned-rat than effortless-Vogue. Oh well – we can’t all travel like this. I had a friend once who always dressed to the nines for her flights, just in case she was able to swindle an upgrade to first class by looking like someone important. But I dress in my pajamas or tracksuit pants, always choosing comfort over style, you may see me donning my eye-mask in the departure lounge if you’re very unlucky. Oh dear, I’m getting way to practical in my old age.
